OGL F1 World Championship - Rules & Regulations OGLf1

All drivers in the league will need: OGL Official mod (see Download Section)
Updates throughout season - including helmets, track updates and skins.
Mod is private, any driver caught sending non league drivers the OGL mod will be removed from the league / forum.

No driver is to make any modifications to the physics of the mod, the dedicated server is set to not accept mismatches. If a driver has a mismatch it needs to be sorted before race day.

Season Settings
The Season Schedule is laid out by league admin and is final, if the schedule changes for some reason it will only be done by league admin.

Race distance 100%
Tyre Wear - Normal
Fuel Usage- Normal
Damage - 70%

Driver Aids
Traction -med,(f8)
ABS – low,(f9)
Clutch (f11)

Teams and Drivers

Custom Teams/car Skinning is not allowed and only 2drivers per team.

Drivers must turn up for at least one in four races, as demands for seats are high. Drivers who miss practice/quail/races without contacting team management/race admin beforehand (to arrange a replacement) will be looked upon unfavourably.

Practice Settings

Saturday 8:00pm for 1hour
During free practice race conditions apply and drivers are expected to behave maturely and appropriately.

1)Pit lane limit must be adhered to at all times
2)Anyone seen driving the wrong way on the race circuit
3)Drivers must not harass other drivers while testing, ask first if they want to race on track then go out with them.

Qualifying Session

Sunday's 7:00pm

Q1 = 15MIN SESSION UNLIMITED LAPS, ONLY THE TOP 15 WILL PROGRESS INTO Q2
Q2 = 15MIN SESSION UNLIMITED LAPS, ONLY THE TOP 10 WILL PROGRESS INTO Q3
Q3 = 10MIN SESSION, TOP 10 DRIVER WILL BATTLE OUT FOR POLE. PARC FERME

Q3 - Rule

New for this season is the parc ferme rule,
When q3 starts the set up and tyres you set your best lap on, will be carried over into the race.

You will only be allowed to top up with race fuel,

DO NOT RUN YOUR CAR SO LIGHT THAT YOU CANT GET BACK TO PITS, IF YOU SET A TIME THEN DRIVE BACK TO THE PITS FOR IT TO BE REGISTERD, IF YOU PRESS ESC, YOUR TIME WILL BE DELETED

IF YOU ARE ON A IN OR OUT LAP AND ANOTHER CAR IS ON A FAST LAP, THEN YOU MUST MOVE OUT OF THE WAY, OFF THE RACING LINE, ANY DRIVER CAUGHT BLOCKING ANOTHER DRIVER ON THERE FAST LAP, (UNLESS ON A FL THEMSELFS) WILL BE GIVIN A QUALI BAN.

NO TALKING DURING ALL QUALI SESSIONS NO DRIVER IS PERMITED TO TALK, YOU MAY ONLY SPEAK IN WISPER MODE OR WHEN HARV DAVE OR MATT SAY SESSION OVER.

AFTER EACH QUALI SESSION WE WILL DO PRACTICE STARTS FOR THE RACE, THESE ARE SERIOUS PRACTICE STARTS, SO NO HITTING OR CAUSEING PILE UP'S.

Race

Sundays 8:00pm

All drivers must have a whisper button for the SC. So if an incident occurs causing you to get DNF or hit and no wait. Then notify the SC with this button, then he will quickly review the action,
The button must be set as follows - /w Race Control Race Incident. If you have crashed out of the race, press this button, and wait for the SC to tell you to ESC before leaving.

There will be no recon lap. A 30 second countdown will begin once the race starts. Everyone must go to the grid within that 30seconds or they will have to start from the pits.

Once all drivers are lined up and the countdown has ended drivers will embark on a formation lap. The pole leader is responsible for pacing the pack, again drivers must leave at least a 4 car gap, if a car goes off or spins they must re-join the track only when it is safe to do so, if a driver is behind someone and they spin then they should carry on as normal. When re approaching the grid slow right down and if you have to pass someone who is already lined up to get to your grid spot then the middle lane of the track must be used to get there.

None of us likes restarts. But it is also unfair to test all week, and be over turn 1. If 1 or more drivers get hit out turn 1, then you may call a vote to restart, if the vote is passed, we will restart but the driver asking for the restart will start from the back of the grid or pits.

Points System - 25/18/15/12/10/8/6/4/2/1. A driver must complete 75% race distance to earn points.

Other

Fuel mix - You need to assign buttons to your increment boost and decrement boost - this acts as a fuel mix and can be adjusted in car whilst driving e.g. to save fuel or to save your engine at the end of race to stop engine failures.

Chat is completely banned during quali and race as it puts drivers off, chatting is allowed during testing unless stated by admin, no driver is allowed to type in frustration at another driver, proper decorum should be maintained at all times, a driver using foul or abusive language will be kicked and possibly banned by admin.

Engine Rule

Driver are allocated 8 engines per season. That will only be used in quali and race.
If your engine is seen blown in quali or race, then it will be marked down on the engine chart on forum,
Once you've used all 8 engines, you will receive a qualifying ban for each new engine you use.

Drivers who are penalised by the Race Control will be informed of the decision in the penalties section of forum and given 24 hours to dispute it and provide supporting evidence (such as their own recorded replay) in their defence. Race Control's final ruling on their appeal will be final, and drivers who instigate public debates or votes designed to put pressure on race control may be summarily ruled against. This league can only function if respect for its moderator is upheld by drivers, and so for its own protection, any further discussion or venting by the driver after the publication of the results (especially publicly) may lead to future competition penalties and disciplinary action.

Setup Sharing is now highly encouraged, obviously set information info you don’t have to reveal but general help and getting everyone up to speed will be better racing. IF YOU NEED HELP WITH SETUP THEN PLEASE JUST ASK.

In the case of an incident occurring where no rule is laid out we will try and apply official FIA rulings and a new rule will be made. At any time a rule may be added, adjusted or deleted.

On-Track Behaviour

Pass with care. If you aren't sure you can pull off a move to pass an opponent, don't do it. Take your time to work out where to try the move.
Overtaking car: If you're attempting to make a pass up the inside, and don't have 1/2 a car overlap when the lead car turns-in to the apex, you must give way. If you try to pass around the outside then exiting the corner you must be fully alongside the other car, otherwise they are entitled to take the normal racing line, which may include pushing you wide. In the event that they do start take you wide, you should fall back behind the other car as safely as possible.
Lead car: If you're being overtaken on the inside, and the overtaking car has 1/2 a car overlap or more, you cannot force your racing line and must allow them the apex. Remember be safe and fair.
A driver is allowed to move once off the racing line down a straight to block an overtaking move but then must not move off that line until necessary to regain normal racing line approaching a corner. If contact with another driver is your fault and they are disadvantaged, you must allow them to regain the position immediately - even if it means you lose positions to drivers not involved in the incident. .

Drivers must take care when re-entering the track - If a driver spins or goes off the circuit watch your mirrors to allow people through safely. This also includes leaving the pit lane - drivers MUST not cross the white line, if a driver gains an advantage over another driver or causes an accident an after race penalty will be applied.

Drivers must ensure that there is at least one wheel on track at all times. If a driver cuts a corner whether by mistake or not they must lift off the throttle to lose the advantage that has been gained, If a driver cuts and gains a place you must give the place back immediately, the same goes if you are the leading car if you cut and gain advantage you must allow the car through. Corner cutting will be penalise after the race if necessary.

Cutting corners also applies to a car damaged and returning to pit, you must stay on track at all times and must only leave track to get out of the way of oncoming traffic.

Safety Car

The safety car will appear when a crash occurs, if there is debris on track, or a car breaks down on track. PITTING IS NOW ALLOWED under SC. YOU CAN NOW PIT WHENEVER YOU WANT.

Due to people pitting we have made a SC rule, that its only allowed to be out for a MAXIMUM of 4 laps only, as we don't want to wait for ages for people to catch back up to pack, so youre allowed to pit, but don't blame anyone if you are not caught up to the pack as you have 4 laps to pit.

Safety car procedure - When either of these incident occur Race control will display this message
SC DEPLOYED from this point the leader must back the pack up, in order to be picked up at turn 1 by the SC. After 1 lap LAPPED CARS MAY OVERTAKE. At this point, the SC will go the left hand side of the track, all cars on the lead lap must stay to the left with the sc. whilst the lapped cars stay right and unlap themselves.

SC RULE UPDATED ON 10/08/2011

Extra Penalties

False Start - will receive a drive through penalty - DO NOT TAKE THE DRIVE THROUGH UNTIL YOU SEE A MESSAGE TELLING YOU TO TAKE IT THIS LAP.
Speeding in pitlane - will receive an automatic stop and go - DO NOT TAKE THE S/G UNTIL YOU SEE A MESSAGE TELLING YOU TO TAKE IT THIS LAP.
Causing an avoidable accident - If a driver causes an avoidable accident or crashes due to reckless driving a 5 or 10 grid place pen will be applied at the next round.

Abusive Behaviour - Abuse behaviour will NOT be tolerated. A driver who is abusive on server or forum at any time can be given a race ban, suspended race ban and even exclusion from the league and forum.

RESERVE DRIVERS

As i know there are 1 or 2 people still interested in racing in the league. Reserve Drivers are going to be added to this season, they can work in 2 ways

1 - Team Manager picks a driver to be their reserve driver, Meaning this driver is held by that team, meaning if 1 of the drivers can't make the race, this driver can drive for that team only! This can happen if the team manager thinks a driver is quick but doesn't want to fire their main driver, so they can contract them for 5 races. You can also rotate main drivers per race (like HRT in 2010) BUT only 2 drivers must take part per race, NO 3rd driver NOTE: Team mates share setups, so if you are contracted to a team you are more likely to get better and racing/setup making!

Lastly don't go begging team managers for test roles, you will be approached if needed.

RESERVE DRIVER CONTRACTS LAST FOR 5 RACES ONLY YOU HAVE TO RENEW HIS CONTRACT OR RISK LOSING HIM

2 - Waiting list reserve - If ANY driver can't make a race, a reserve driver who is not contracted to a team can fill in any seat if the team manager approves of that team on a first come first serve basis, if they are not contracted to any team, they can drive for anyone they wish if the TM of that team agrees, This is so we can have pretty much a full grid every time and people on the waiting list don't get left out if theres a free space on the grid for that weekend.

PostSubject: Re: OGL F1 World Championship - Rules & Regulations   OGL F1 World Championship - Rules & Regulations EmptySun May 01, 2011 1:38 am

NOTE -

So in the rules if you read them you would of noticed ABS and TC low. i just want to go over them, and put your minds and ease to not panic.

TC - This season tc will be low, BUT it will not effect anything because it has the same effect as RFT mod on medium, so you wont feel any difference, apart from a standing start. so do not worry about this.

ABS - ABS this season will be low, in order to make the league more about the driver, and to bring more excitement to the league,
You can think back to sepang, where Lewis had a great shot for pole, but missed it because of a lock up into turn 1 and the final turn,
This is now what we will get.

It’s not as bad as some of you might think, that itll lock up all the time, its easy to work the set up to ease the breaks. and also there are ways of breaking to stop it locking also,

So me matt and dan would ask you all please not panic, Dont go on the server lock up the come and moan, itll take some guys longer than others to get into, some will pick up in a few laps, give it time,

We want more from the driver's this season, thinking about how you drive, and race craft etc, The league will be better and more exiting with this,

DRIVER NAMES - Now we are part of sim racing tv, and we have commentary etc, we will be adding 4 new rules
one of them is that ALL driver will need to use their real names. First name and second name, NO INITIALS

2 - NO RESTARTS - at all. we are going to be live over the net, and also recorded, so you all will have to get used to just chilling out on race starts, and planning your race strategy and overtaking later in the race, Crashes at the start of race will be more punished then normal.

3 - even though this rule is still there, we are making it more strict,
NO TALKING.
not only will you make yourself look stupid swearing when were live, you also receive a straight quali ban, so make sure your quickchat buttons are set so you don’t talk, and if you get hit off. just leave the room. and make a report the next morning,

4 - Because the top 10 has parc ferme, if you leave the server after q3 has finished and before the race starts you WILL lose that grid place, as it will give you fresh tyres and an unfair advantage.

The 107% Rule will apply to every qualifying session. Meaning each driver has to complete a lap within 7% of 1st place mans lap time.

EXAMPLE:

Current fasted lap is Martin Oconnor with 1:30.139.

107% would be 1:36.449.

I know cosies laptime probs will get quicker but this is just an example of the sort of difference.

Once q1 is over, i will do the 107% and inform who has qualified for the race

AN EXCEPTION:

IF a driver does not make 107%, but have been showing promising pace in practice and has a strong hotlap's time (and we know they haven't cut ect) they will be allowed to race.

This rule is just so people don't get lapped 10 times in a race and generally hold people up,

107% is around 5-7 seconds, so it's quite a big margin. everyone should be able to make the cut.

All Drivers need to read and post to let us know they have understood the rules, Also they need to post the name they will be using on the server after reading these new rules.
